Review Summary: Oral-B Pro 2500 Electric Toothbrush
This is a brilliant mid-range electric toothbrush from Oral-B with two important modes; gum care and CrossAction 3D tooth brushing. It differs from the Pro 2000 with its travel case and colouring and while these may seem small things, being able to hygienically take your toothbrush to work or on trips is very useful. No more slumming around in the bottom of your soapy wash bag.
With its buzzer and light alert systems, this toothbrush lets you know exactly when to move from one section of your mouth to another and also lets you know when you’re applying too much pressure and risking enamel damage. In this way, the Oral-B Pro 2500 keeps your mouth healthy without the excess modes and functionality of the Pro 4000 or 5000.
For someone looking for straightforward, high quality oral care, this comes in at a great price.
THE GOOD

About the Brand
Looks great, works great
The Oral-B Pro 2500 is very similar to its sibling, the Pro 2000 with the exception of the travel case and limited edition colouring. Regardless of its familial similarities, this toothbrush looks great, works great and has the added flexibility of a case in which to keep it or travel with it. Fancy a quick after-lunch brush before a big meeting? You’ll need this to close that deal because a good, clean, fresh smile is a sure-fire winner every time.
Two modes to help achieve a healthy mouth
The Pro 2500 has two modes, the 3D action brushing mode for every day healthcare and the Gum Care mode, a gentler action that massages gums and helps keep them in top health. Everyone’s heard of gum disease and no one likes it. Gum health is often overlooked but this mode draws attention to it and helps to give you a fully healthy mouth.
The CrossAction brush head combines oscillation, rotation and pulsation simultaneously to clean teeth efficiently until they feel smooth and polished. The pulsation aspect helps to break up plaque in a unique way and Oral-B claim that the CrossAction motion can get rid of up to 100% more plaque than regular manual toothbrushes. If that’s not a reason to buy then I don’t know what is.
Make sure you brush long enough with the handy buzzer
Tooth brushing has the unique skill of making two minutes seem like forever. This is why we often brush our teeth for way less time, thinking we’ve been brushing for two minutes or more. This time distortion leads to under brushing and bad oral care which is why Oral-B’s buzzer alert system is ideal.
The buzzer goes off every thirty seconds to let you know it’s time to move to another quadrant of your mouth and then it goes off again at two minutes so you know to stop brushing. You’ll be surprised at how long two minutes actually is! This alert system is really crucial for oral health, especially when you’re doing something as mundane as brushing. It’s a gentle buzz that gives you the nudge of knowledge.

You won't be applying too much pressure after using this brush
Another great feature is the pressure sensor system, which is present in most of Oral-B’s brilliant toothbrushes. For everyone out there who doesn’t brush enough, there’s someone who over-brushes and uses way too much pressure on their poor teeth. This can be seriously damaging as it wears down enamel over time. Luckily, Oral-B know exactly how to prevent this and the pressure sensor inside will light up a strip on the handle to tell you when you’re applying too much pressure. Ease up for healthier teeth.
As with many electric toothbrushes, the charge time is pretty epically long. Around 12-14 hours. Nevertheless, if your toothbrush lives in your bathroom then it’s not a big deal; just leave it on the charger all day and it’ll turn off when it’s had enough. For those who travel with their toothbrushes a lot it’s more annoying when you have to take the charger with you, but a full charge should last a week and besides, the charger is really small and is two-pin, suitable for bathroom shaving sockets.
