Review Summary: Oral-B Pro 3000 Electric Toothbrush
While a fantastic toothbrush, this is really designed for those with sensitive teeth and gums in order to make the most out of the features additional to those in the Pro 2000 and Pro 2500 models. The additional head is easy to change and the three modes are perfect for those needing a range.
The Gum Care mode is especially good as it draws attention to the necessity of healthy gums and that, combined with the buzzer and light alerts, will leave you with a clean and healthy mouth.
If you’ve got sensitive teeth and gums but still want to invest in a high quality electric toothbrush that cleans teeth up to 100% better than a manual brush, this is the ideal starting point for you. It’s a great price, totally affordable and you’ll never turn back to the supermarket manual brushes. Ugh.
THE GOOD
- Sensitive brush head and sensitive setting
- Buzzer alerts so you won't be brushing for too long or not long enough
- Pressure sensor to prevent over-brushing
THE BAD
- Lengthy charge time
- Sensitive head only good for those with sensitive teeth
In-Depth Review
About the Brand
Both Braun and Oral-B are owned by the Gillette group and Oral-B itself is under the wing of Braun. This highly regarded oral care brand has gone from strength to strength since its creation in the late 50s by a Californian dentist. Trusted around the world, Oral-B is one of the industry leaders when it comes to electric toothbrushes.
Oral-B have a huge range of toothbrushes
Oral-B have a huge range of toothbrushes that are all extremely similar except for one or two changes. While this may seem annoying when you’re sifting through them, it actually means that you can end up with a toothbrush that is effectively tailored to your exact needs.
This Oral-B Pro 3000 has a really useful brush head storage space in the charging base which not only gives you somewhere to store your spares and stop them from collecting dust, but also adds a good bit of stability to the charger as the toothbrushes on other Oral-B chargers have a tendency to topple if looked at.
The charging takes a long time, you’re looking at around 12 hours and almost 22 for the first initial charge (not unusual with these types of appliances). Because of the type of charger though, you can safely leave your toothbrush on its charging stand all day long and know that it will simply stop charging when it’s had enough.
CrossAction brush heads give your teeth the best clean...
CrossAction brush heads are a great invention from Oral-B and specialise in three types of motion at once to give your teeth the best clean they can. Oscillating, rotating and pulsating, the brush head breaks up plaque and cleans teeth up to 100% better than a standard manual toothbrush.

The sensitive brush head, an addition that comes with this Pro 3000 model, is great for those with sensitive teeth and gums but who still want a high quality clean. The brush heads are easy to change and should be thrown away after 3-4 months of use regardless of their type.
This OralB Pro 3000 CrossAction Electric Rechargeable Toothbrush has the buzzer and light alert systems that make this range of Oral-B brushes outstanding. The buzzer alerts you every thirty seconds to let you know it’s time to move onto a new quadrant of your mouth and the 2-minute buzzer lets you know that you can stop brushing. This is really important because it’s easy to brush for only 40 seconds and feel like you’ve been doing it for five minutes.
Never over brush again thanks to the pressure sensor
The light alert is Oral-B’s awesome pressure sensor telling you that you’re applying too much pressure and are at risk of unduly wearing the enamel of your teeth down. It’s amazing how many people brush too hard, not realising that harder doesn’t mean cleaner. Save your teeth with this useful sensor.
The Pro 3000 has three modes with which to keep your mouth in tiptop condition. The 3D mode for every day powerful brushing, the Gum Care mode for gentler massaging and stimulation of your gums and the Sensitive mode for gentle but effective cleaning. If you have sensitive teeth and gums then this is a great toothbrush for you, better than the Pro 2000 or Pro 2500, which lack sensitive settings and brush heads.
